HANNAH
24 August
.1995- 2 May 2007
Hannah, our lovely Rottweiler, has gone
over the Rainbow. She was born 24.8.1995
and left us on
2.5.2007, having lived with us from 12.6.1999. She was a
wonderful dog and a great family member. Everybody who met her said
she had a lovely face and some (those with stereotype ideas) found
it difficult to believe that she was a Rottie. She had a problem
with her right hind leg from before we had her and she was on
painkillers twice a day. From late last year it had become
impossible for her to get in the car any more so her walks had to be
confined to the streets and the local recreation ground, which
fortunately was within her walking distance. When we took Hannah on
she wrote a piece for the Newsletter but it looks as though I shall
have to do one on her behalf for the next issue. Maybe we shall be
able to find a photograph of her as well; she was not keen on being
photographed and she did not come out too well, so we do not have
many at all. In due course we shall look forward to having another
Rottweiler. John & Elizabeth

1999 - 2008
You came to us as a
stroke of luck, we had just lost our big boy and we were told you
had a week to find a home or you were being pts because of your
previous owner, you came to visit us, you were just 18 months
old, thin, unwell and unloved, no way was I letting you go, and here
you stayed with us for 7 1/2 yrs, you were a big silly lump,
everyone loved you, even when you bounced about like an idiot to get
attention. You developed diabetes last year and it was hard, but
once we had your insulin spot on you were great, but the last couple
of months something was going on with your tummy and it just
gradually getting worse. To see you so unwell Mackie was heart
breaking, we had to say goodbye. Mum loves you and misses you so
much. You were Mum's big boy Sleep tight my big boy xxxx

SUZIE
Died 8 March 2009
Suzie, you
were the best we could've ever wished for. Loyal, loving, funny and
a complete mischief maker. There is now a massive hole in our lives,
there is a chair that is empty where you sat and laid. Above all the
fun and laughter has stopped. Suzie, you are irreplaceable, no other
dog can fill this hole. From 8 weeks old we all spent lots of time
together, even when your little brother came along, you took care of
him. We will always remember you, never forget you. You brought
happiness to us, and know we brought you happiness too. We miss you
greeting us at the door, barking at the door when people knock. Most
of all we miss your kisses, cuddles and love. You were taken
suddenly from us that night. I never said goodbye or I love you.
Till we meet once again, sleep well my friend, you deserve the rest.
Your Daddy, Mummy and baby brother. xxx
TAZ
Died 14 May 2009
You came to us from RWA at the age of 5 after having a bad start in
life. You were lively, loving and the most gentle natured
rottie anyone could ask for. We all adored you especially
Andrew and Natalie. You brought us lots of joy and made us
laugh with your mischievous ways. Sadly and suddenly on the
10/5/2009 we were devastated to find out after a visit to the vets
due to you being off your food that you had Lymph Node cancer and
that it was quite advanced. The vet informed us that you had only a
short time left to live. We had to make the hardest decision
of our lives and one that broke our hearts, but, we know we made the
right one and our only comfort is that you are no longer suffering
and in pain. We only had you in our lives for three years and we
wish it could have been a lot longer. We have lost our best
friend. It has only been a week since you left us and we are all
trying to come to terms with your death. We will never forget
you you were our special boy good night and god bless from your
loving family XXX
IN
MEMORY OF OUR BELOVED TASMIN
BORN - 27th September 2003
Died - 7th May
2009
You
captured our hearts as a gorgeous, tiny 8-week old bundle of energy
and took us on an amazing journey, which was cut tragically too
short. You embodied the spirit of the Rottweiler breed with your
tremendous strength, fearlessness, courage, stamina and energy. I
never once saw you afraid or unsure of anything. We called you "The
Diva" because you demanded nothing short of adoration from everyone
around you! Everyone who met you was captivated by your
larger-than-life personality and zest for life. We knew your every
mood and facial expression - from blowing out your cheeks when you
were irritated, to your full-on 'diva flounces' when you wanted to
make a point! We loved playing your favourite games with you -
the "red-dot", chasing the hose-pipe, squeeky pink ball, Baby
Taz and the "where is?" game. You even played in the garden just a
few days before you passed away. Everyone misses you so much - you
have left such a huge hole in so many people's lives. You loved
seeing your Grandad Eddie every day, and going off on your
adventures together to the park, Middlewood Way or picking
blackberries. Your dear friends Brenda and Harry are also devastated
and missing your Saturday visits, when you were spoiled rotten with
treats, toys and cuddles. Even your doggie pals from the field are
missing you - what great times you had with Rogan, Buster, Jake and
Scooby- chasing after each other and swimming in the pond. When you
were diagnosed with lymphoma in July '08 we couldn't believe it. But
we were determined that if any dog could beat the disease it would
be you. So off we went to Liverpool Small Animal Hospital and you
began chemotherapy treatment under the amazing care of the oncology
team (Ian, James & Mary) there. You did so well in the beginning,
that we almost forgot that you were ill. Your regular chemo trips
just became a new routine, and you particularly liked the perks of
fresh chicken, fish and 'poorly girl food' for the few days after!
But when you came out of remission in December and developed
multi-drug resistance, we knew that time was against us. The vets
tried every chemotherapy protocol they could to try to halt the
cancer, but the disease was relentless. When you stopped being able
to eat or hold down fluids over the May Bank Holiday weekend, we
rushed you back to Liverpool and were devastated to find out that
the cancer had spread into your tummy and liver. We made the
decision to bring you home to pass away in your own familiar
surroundings, and to enable your family and friends to say goodbye.
It was heart-breaking, but I'm so glad that we were able to spend
those last few hours together. You left us very peacefully at
7.30a.m, lying by the patio doors on a beautiful spring morning. I
hope you have found our precious Jenna and Katie at Rainbow
Bridge. I like to imagine my girls are running free together ( with
Alan keeping a crafty, feline eye on you all). In my heart I know
that one day we will all be together again. Watch out for us
sweet-pea. Lots of
love from Mommy and Daddy (Ruth & Michael)

DIGIT
I bred my baby Digit, (Reikkson Rumbling Bridge), he was a tiny
little man who I could not bear to part with. He was a little
sweetheart who grew into a handsome young man. He was only six
and a half months old, when he suddenly died. He was loved by
all at my work where he went daily and enjoyed all the fuss and
attention he received. He died in his sleep just after his
afternoon walk. He suffered no stress or discomfort, just never
woke up again.
Everyone misses you Digit, you made such an
impression on all who knew you. Mummy loves you so much and
misses you so much. Always in my thoughts. Sleep tight little
man, till we see each other again. xxx Nikki
