Alfie and Freddie',  Welfare Puppies Sculptured by John Stanbridge. now at £5. The sculptures were taken from original photos of Alfie and Freddie and were sculptured to celebrate RWA's  25th Anniversary. The puppies were 7 days old when taken into the care of Rottweiler Welfare.  We were asked to care for 5 bitches and 10 puppies from one home.  A vet cared for the bitches and as their health improved they were spayed and found homes. One bitch was found to be in whelp and gave birth to 6 puppies just before Christmas 2003.  Homes were found for all the bitches and puppies, including Freddie and Alfie once they were well enough.

John Stanbridge has spent his life caring for and working with animals.  During his work he developed his aptitude for sculpting, inspired by the subjects that he had daily contact with. John has been an exhibitor of Bearded Collies and has made up two champion, has had considerable success in working trials and judges abroad and in the UK.  John also keeps Belgian Shepherd Dogs (Groenendaels) and has bred the C.C. record holder for the breed.

Double Trouble and Meditation Prints by Maria Heskins.  Rottweiler Welfare Association receives a donation from all of the prints sold of ‘Meditation’ and ‘Double Trouble' if brought through us. Phone Jennie on the number above for further details on the size of both these prints and to order, as they are not a stock item. Prices are £25 for Meditation and £43 for Double Trouble.

Maria graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1993. She was inspired by her GSD ‘Lily’ to set up her own fashion consultancy business in 1994 designing ranges for top companies. She approached the magazine ‘Dogs Today’ with an idea for a feature on clothing for dogs.  This proved to be a success and the ‘Fido Fashion’ article has been featured for the past 8 years. In 2001 she began publishing her work as limited edition prints. Her first work was the popular illustration “The Domino Effect”, which features several breeds of dogs affected by the draconian breed specific legislation that originated in Germany and is sold in support of the Kennel Club’s Domino Fund.  Marie has published numerous dog prints, and designed the new logo for the PAT Dog charity and illustrated a popular Christmas card for Pro Dogs.
