Welcome to our Rehoming page

Roxanne is a fit and active 18 month old rottie girl who came into rescue via a supporter who found her living rough on the streets with her homeless owner.  Although not having had the best of starts she is a very happy, normal rottie who loves playing with her kennel-mate Rocco.  She is quite well behaved and would respond well to training, this would be essential as she is extremely strong on the lead, but she is willing to listen and wants to please.  She could live with another dog quite happily and would make a loving family pet once she had the right amount of training and time devoted to her.  She is very sociable and loves a cuddle.  A home with slightly older children would probably be best for as she is quite boisterous.  Please give Roxanne a chance of a loving home.

Molly is 2 year old unspayed bitch, but would be spayed before rehoming. She came to the RWA due to a marriage breakup - and the family were very sad to have to give her up for rehoming. Molly is a typical Rottie bitch - so can be a tad stubborn - but is easily bought with a biscuit. She loves fusses and sitting nice and close. She has lived with kids 7 years and above. She is not keen on small dogs or cats, she wants to play but they just don't understand !! We are still getting to know her, but it does appear that she prefers the company of women rather than men  Therefore we feel she would suit a female who has the time to get to know her and who wants a lovely dog to keep her company.

Rocco is an 11 month old castrated male.  He lived previously in a very busy chaotic household and through no fault of his own has had to be rehomed.  He is lovely and friendly, enjoys cuddles and playing but due to the busy household received no training whatsoever.  He is a very active dog that needs to learn boundaries and manners which he has not been taught - like sitting and waiting for his food.  Therefore he needs training and would probably enjoy some form of activity when he is fully matured.  He is currently kennelled with Roxanne and they get on very well and he was also kennelled with another bitch and got on with her ok.  He needs an experienced home with new owner(s) who can spend time teaching him the correct way to behaved.  He could live with teenager children but not young children due to his exuberant nature.

Zeus and Stitch are mother and son and are another pair of super dogs.  They came into rescue because their owners have had to move abroad because of work commitments and unfortunately, were unable to take them. These two have always been loved and looked after.  They have also been well trained and are quite gentle in their approach to people as the previous owner's 80 year old mother lived at the home.  They also lived with another small dog and a cat and appear to be quite sociable to the other kennel dogs. It would be wonderful if a home could be found for them together but we would consider separating these two since we feel that they would be able to live quite happily separately.

Zeus
(tailed), is 20 months old, is quite a big boy, very happy and well behaved.  Enjoys his walks and is very good on the lead. Stitch (Docked and  spayed), is 5 years old, and currently rather well rounded and adorable.  She has the waggliest  stump that we have ever had.  It just never stops.  She also walks well on the lead and is extremely well behaved.

Zac and Zara

Z
ac and Zara are 20 month old brother and sister.  Both had to be docked by the vet because the breeder had made such a mess of trying to do it himself.  They are both absolutely super dogs.  Well behaved and lead trained.  They have been used to sleeping in a cage together and came to us because they were having to be left such long hours and their owner did not feel that it was fair to keep them and very reluctantly it was decided that they would be better rehomed to somewhere that had much more time to give them.  They do not seem to take much notice of the other dogs around them. Because they are so close and have always been with each other we feel that Zac and Zara should be homed together. A family home with older children would be ideal and you can be assured that should you be able to give Zac and Zara their forever home it would be a decision that you would never regret.

Zac is a big affable boy who seems happy to bumble along in his own world.  He walks very well on the lead and enjoys going round the field with anyone who is free to take him.  He is affectionate and well behaved.

Zara is not as big as Zac but is still a proper rottie girl and she is just as loving and happy as her brother, but I would say that she is more "switched on".  She is also very good on the lead and I understand that their previous lady owner was able to walk them together without any problem.

Desmond is a lovely young male who is a 2 years old. He is a nice friendly boy and when he had to go to the vets was called a "star" which delighted us. We would suggest classes in order to continue his training and to socialise him with other dogs.  He will make a superb dog, but needs an experienced home with older teenager children who can give him the time and training he needs.

Petal  is a big, friendly, lovely and nice looking 2 year old girl. Family circumstances meant Petal had to come into rescue through no fault of her own. She has lived with another male dog, and could do so again providing the other dog is laid back, otherwise she would be ideal on her own.  She has a wonderful lively nature and will make a lovely addition to a family with older children  Like all young dogs she need to continue the training and socialisation that has been started.

Bernard If you are a regular site follower you may remember that Bernard has been on our rehoming page before.  He was very lucky and went on a long break to Scotland where he was loved, spoiled and fostered for most of last year by an exceptional couple and was only returned due to lack of garden space.  Bernard is an adorable 10 year good-looking rottie male.  He came to rescue as a stray and promptly settled into kennels.  He is very friendly with people and other dogs and enjoys his walks and meeting people.  Unfortunately, Bernard does have a problem in that if he decides to guard something and this can be anything from his bowl to any item that he can find either indoors or outdoors that he takes a fancy to, it takes a lot of persuading for him to give up whatever he has decided is his and he can become quite stubborn and grumpy.  Therefore, we would not consider that Bernard could be a house dog, although most of the time he is fine inside, but rather he be a kennel boy, first-class accommodation of course, who can be invited into the house on the new owners terms.  Obviously, there could be no children in the home and although he does seem to enjoy the company of other dogs because of his possession problem which only occurs occasionally, no other pets.  However, Bernard would make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys going out for walks as he is extremely fit for his age and has recently had an MOT at the vets which confirmed how well he is.  He is loving and loyal and quite a comedian at times. A long-term foster home would be considered for him.

Bruno is an 18 month old male who is friendly with people and loves to play.  He came from a family that doted on him, but they had to move and couldn’t take him with them.  He is a lively and happy dog, but he can get excited around new dogs.  He is currently entire but could be castrated.  He is currently kennelled with Naomi and they get on really well.  We would suggest that he is taken to classes to continue his training and socialisation,, in order to learn how to say hello to other dogs properly. He loves his food which will make training him very easy.  We know he will make a great family pet, but would be more suited to a family with older children who can continue his socialisation and training.

Bomberis a 2 year old lovely big chunky long tailed castrated male.  He is very friendly and just loves giving big kisses if allowed.  He is  microchipped and vaccinated.  He came in due to his owner no longer being able to look after him due to illness. He is a friendly playful fellow and basically adorable. He avoided being PTS by a single day when rescued by us from a local authority dog pound.  He could live with older teenager children, but not young children has he as had no experience of them.

Ellie  We were contacted by vets in the South regarding Ellie when she was about 16 months old, who had been badly injured. We were Ellie's last hope because she had been refused help by a well known leading animal charity. Her front legs had been severely slashed right down to the ligaments, by what or whom we will never know.  The vets have done a wonderful job, her bandages are off and her fur has  grown back and you would not know that she has surgery or bad injuries.     She is approximately 20 months old now, very pretty, with a very waggy stump, slightly timid when first approached (not surprising really) but has turned into a really cheeky girl.  We have no doubt that she will make a happy, loving dog for a quiet, laid back home. As she was a stray she needs a home that has had experience of working breeds and teenage children only.

Alfie is a 3 year old castrated male who is a very handsome boy. He is steady and fairly calm and very friendly.  He is a small male and a really nice boy with no problems. He is fine with all the people he has met and shows no indication of any problems with other dogs at the kennels.  As we have no history of him he could not live with children or cats, but older teenager children may be ok and possible a bitch, but they would all need to be introduced first.

Carla is an eight month old puppy who is being fostered and needs a new home.  She gets on well with all dogs and currently lives with six so would suit a family with at least one other dog and someone who can take her training and continue her socialisation.  She could live with a family, but being young needs guidance, time and patience to turn her into a lovely mature rottie.  Therefore someone who can be at home some of the time to show her the ropes would be ideal.

Brandon is a 16 month entire male, who may be castrated before being rehomed. He can be a little reserved on first meeting people, but he is basically a friendly happy boy with a waggy tail and once he gets to know you he is fine.  Brandon would make an excellent family pet, but he needs an understanding home where he can learn to be a well behaved dog.  He does need a home with people around for part of the day and a home with older children would be ideal.  Being young and immature Brandon would benefit from training and socialisation classes in order to learn how to meet and greet dogs.

Sasha came to us as a stray, after being left tied to a lamp post.  She is approximately 14-16 months old, very small pretty bitch with a sweet nature.  It appears she does have a slight problem when walking, but after extensive tests and Xrays the vet could not find anything physically or mentally wrong with her, but she does definitely have a strange way of flinging her legs out, but this causes her no distress whatsoever.  She loves nothing better than being cuddled and generally has a sunny nature.  When she arrived she was very thin and possible because food was hard to come by, this had become an issue with her but we have been working on it and it is now much better.  Any new owner would need to follow our guidelines and she would need a quiet place to eat and to be left alone. She does still need to be built up both physically and mentally and with her food issue she can only go to a home where there are no children and where the new owners had plenty of time to spend with her.  She is ok on the lead and is clean in her kennel.  This will be Sasha's third home, not including the kennels, so she would definitely like it to be her forever home.

Lorenzo is about 1 year old and will soon be castrated.  He was due to be pts but was fortunately rescued and is now currently being fostered.  He is very affectionate, well mannered and can be left alone for a short time.  He is good on the lead and with other dogs.  He is not fazed by horses or cats and just ignores them.  He has been to the vet and was very good.  He would still need training and socialisation and ideally a family with older children.

Naomi came to us as a stray rottie, but after agreeing to take her, its now clear that she is a Labrador or Boxer Rottie cross.  She is about 3 years old and is a very friendly bouncy girl.  She is ok with other dogs and loves to play with her toys.  It is recommended that she attends some formal training in order to channel her energy.  She could be rehomed to a family with children 9+ but not younger due to her exuberant nature.

Max has been really unlucky in that he did have a wonderful home to go to, but due to unforeseen circumstances the new owners cannot now give Max the new home that he deserves.  Max came from a home where he was well loved by his two lady owners, but due to work commitments they could not keep him.  He is a big boy with a very loving nature who likes to sit next to you and have a cuddle.  He does like some bitches but is a bit choosey. He has not been used to "town" life and is very afraid of traffic etc, so he would be best suited to a country home where he could be walked in the fields or quiet lanes. Max would be best in an experienced home with older teenage children where he could find the love and attention that he so deserves.  Please, please give Max serious consideration as he really does now deserve to go to his forever home.

NEW PICTURE COMING SOON

Donnie is a large tall male rottie 3 year old who is looking for a new home because of a change in circumstances of his owner.   He is a friendly energetic boy who is well behaved and a big softie. Donnie loves travelling in the car and likes to go for walks.  He is currently walked on lead as he get excited when meeting other dogs so he would benefit from some training and socialisaiton.  He needs a new home that has a structured routine and he likes to be outside enjoying the outdoors.  A new home would be with someone who has experience of large dogs and who can give him clear boundaries, older teenager children only and no other dogs.

Zeus is a 4 year old male that was rehomed by us, but unfortunately has now come back. He is a typical rottie male and therefore needs to be given guidance to house rules and his boundaries, and he needs an experienced rottie home. Toys are his favourite thing in life and he will play with them for ages and this would make a good training aid.  He also like his food very much.  Zeus would live happily with another bitch for company and would suit an experienced adult home only, although older teenage children maybe a possibility.

Delme is a 5 year old male who is a really lovely boy.  He is a real character and is a talker.  He is friendly, good on the lead and is ok to be groomed.  He understands basic commands and is now learning to play.  He came from the pound so we have no history of him so he can only go to a adult home only.  He has no problems with being handled or with feeding and no health problems that we are aware of.

Etti is a 2 year old bitch who came in from the pound with mange, which is now all clear up.  She is lovely and friendly and loves  everybody.  She has a very wriggly bum when being groomed and when playing ball or with her toys she gets excited and squeaks.  She would benefit from training, although she knows basic commands, but needs further lead training.  She gets on well with other dogs, loves being fussed and likes her food and treats.  She could live with another male dog and children 9+.

Tye is 3 year old castrated docked male who is looking for a new home.  He is house trained, lives with other dogs and a rabbit who run around him in the house who is his best friend..  Although he currently lives with other dogs he would problably be better in a rottie experienced adult only home with no other dogs.  He has a big personality and his best friend is the rabbit, but he needs guidance and house boundaries set and would also benefit from socialisation and training classes.

Butch and Kia are looking for a new home due to a change in their owner's circumstances and are being left for too long.  Butch is a 5 year old entire male who is docked.  He is friendly to people and dogs, knows basic command and is house trained.  He is currently exercised on and off the lead.

Kia is a five year old spayed bitch who is also docked. She is lovely and friendly and loves to be fussed.  She also knows basic commands, and is house trained.  She is ok with dogs she knows, but can be choosy with others and for this reason is currently walked on the lead.

Neither dog have been used to children, so can only be rehomed to an adult only home.  They are both ok at the vets with  no health problems that are known.

Dolly is a 4 year old spayed bitch who needs a new home through no fault of her's, but due to a change in her owner's circumstances.  She is friendly with people and other dogs.  Can be left for a short while and currently lives and gets on well with a cate.  She has done some training in the past and knows basic commands.  She travel well in the car and has no health problem that are known.  She is vaccinated and house trained.  A suitable home would be an adult only home or with older teenager children only.
