You can't buy loyalty, they  say
I got it though, the other day;
You can't buy friendship
tried and true,
Well just the same, I got that too.
I got my RWA Rottie,
and on the spot
got love and faith
and a whole job lot
Of happiness, so all in all
The problems are pretty small.
I got a single trusting heart,
That gave devotion from the start.
If you think these things are not true, rescue a brown-eyed Rottie
and if see  they don't  come true.

A Dog's Soul

Every dog must have a soul
Somewhere deep inside
Where all his hurts and grievances
Are buried with his pride.
Where he decides
The good and bad,
The wrong way from the right,
And where his judgement carefully
Is hidden from our sight.
A dog must have a secret place
Where every thought abides,
A sort of close acquaintance that
He trusts in and confides.
And when accused unjustly for
Himself, He cannot speak,
Rebuked, He finds within his soul
The comfort he must seek.
He'll love, tho'he is unloved,
And he'll serve tho'badly used,
And one kind word will wipe away
The times when he's abused.
Altho' his heart may break in two
His love will still be whole,
Because God gave to every dog
An understanding Soul!

Read all About Us

The Rottweiler Welfare Assocation is  a "not-for-profit" rescue organisation, and was started in 1979 to find good homes for unwanted Rottweilers and received Charity status in 1981.   We are a registered charity and are not associated with any other Rottweiler rescue organisation, but will try to assist anyone that contacts us for help. We do not have our own rescue centre but have a system whereby we encourage owners of dogs that need to be rehomed to continue to keep their dog for as long as possible until a new suitable home can be found, thus minimising the stress and anxiety on the dog. If a dog needs to be removed from the home for whatever reason we use a number of approved kennels for this purpose and these cover a wide area of the country. The people running these kennels are all experienced with Rottweilers and are Welfare representatives. In some cases we might foster the dog until a suitable home is find, as it might need to go into a home rather than into a kennel environment.  All dogs that need a new home are assessed by us so we can make sure that we match the right dog to the right owner and vice versa, so that the dog finds its forever home. It is a requirement of our adoption policy that we will always take a RWA dog back if it needs to be returned for whatever reasons.  The association is entirely run by volunteers and to find out more about us use the Aims and History link to the left.

Fostering:  Could you help us by fostering one of our rescued dogs in your home. You must be people experienced in the breed and you would be subject to a home visit by a Welfare Representative. You must also have household insurance for third party cover. If you are interested please email us at  rottwelfare25@tiscali.co.uk

Dogs for Adoption:  Could you adopt one of our dogs. The dogs shown on the site are often only a selection that are waiting for a home, so please ring  001782 395558 or 01732 841082 to talk about adopting or email us at  rottwelfare25@tiscali.co.uk. It is helpful when emailing us to include your name, telephone number and what area of the country you reside in.

If you need to rehome your dog, email us at rottwelfare25@tiscali.co.uk or call 01782 395558 or 01732 841082.  if no answer please listen to the answerphone message which will give you other numbers to ring and you can leave a message.

Forms  You can download an adoption or rehoming form to post or email to us Other forms such as Membership or Share and Care are also available.

Share and Care Scheme: Established to provide Rottweilers with long term care. Share the Responsibility, Care for a Rottweiler.  By joining our scheme and donating a fixed amount each month, funds will always be available for dogs that find themselves in Welfare who may have no prospect of a safe and permanent home in the near future, because they may be unsocialised, elderly or have a long term non fatal illness.  These dog on the Scheme sometimes take just that much longer to find a suitable forever home, but in this way they are cared for without draining our main fund.

Sponsorship scheme: The Sponsorship Scheme allows people to sponsor an individual dog for veterinary care, kennelling costs or just a special treat.  So if you do not wish to commit to a fixed amount each month this may be your way of help us.

Events and Shows: Find out what places we will be attending to raise money. We are always looking for people to help us at these events.  If you are running your own event to raise money for us, let us know and it can be added to our website. Whether interested in helping or you wish to add an event email  rottwelfare25@tiscali.co.uk with details.

Helping us: There are many other ways to raise funds for us and these can be find by clicking the link.
